TMZ is reporting that the LAPD is now treating Michael Jackson’s death as a homicide and that they are focusing on Jackson’s personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ that evidence points to the anesthesia Propofol as the primary cause of Jackson’s death and that there is already “plenty of powerful evidence” that Dr. Murray is the person who administered the drug to Jackson.
Police reportedly found vials of the drug along with an intravenous stand and an oxygen tank at Jackson’s home after he died. Propofol is a powerful anesthetic — in related news the CDC and FDA recalled two lots of the drug yesterday after they were found to be contaminated.
Dr. Murray’s lawyer would reportedly neither confirm nor deny whether his client administered the Propofol.
TMZ previously reported that investigators are also suspicious of the doctor’s delay in calling 911. He waited 20 – 30 minutes and claimed it was because he didn’t know Jackson’s address to give paramedics. Jackson lived on what is apparently one of the most famous streets in the world.
If things in the United States work the same way as they do in Canada, if you call 9-1-1 from a landline, your address shows up automatically. Though maybe the Dr. didn’t know this or there were no landlines available.
