How do I become more popular?

Hmm.. how do I go about getting my blog ‘out there’??

Facebook has been, by far my most popular avenue for getting hits to my blog, which I think is great.. due to the fact that I would like to think that a lot of my content is tailored for people that I know and whom know me. I also aim to provide other facts and financial stuff for people that are interested in getting rich.. I mean.. wealthier.. I mean.. retire.. oh hell with it.. all of the above.

What is a constant struggle however, is how to go about publicizing your blog. I mean, there are lots of free directory submissions sites out there, but what does one have to do to become ‘mainstream’?

I get a kick out of how many times I get people that come up to me lately and say “Hey! I read your blog.. does that mosquito thing work?” (it does by the way.. I’ve done it a number of times since then.. as have my neighbours). But getting back to my point, how do you go about making yourself more popular to the general public in the massive social media driven Internet?
