Ever been really, really, really pissed off about the price of ink?
This is one of those tips which I implemented so long ago that I almost forgot about it… first let me tell you this. I haven’t had to pay for an ink cartridge in YEARS! Also, I print (not so much anymore), more than anyone else I know.. I’ve got DVD covers printed off for well over 500 DVD’s I’d say.
How do I do it? It’s actually pretty easy.. with a Continuous Ink System (CIS). If you have a printer currently that supports a CIS system (a lot of them do), then I would HIGHLY suggest you purchase one. This is what it looks like once it’s all setup:

R200 (what I have) with a CIS system
See that box on the right hand side? Yeah, that holds a TON of ink in it.. all individually packaged and ready to print off whatever you want.
Generally speaking, the installations of these systems are very simple, with step-by-step instructions the full way through. I know just doing a quick Ebay search yields hundreds of results and I can honestly say that if you buy ink on a regular basis.. this thing will save you a LOT of money. For the price of the whole system, you can generally only get 1 or 2 individual ink cartridges if you purchased it at Staples or something.
Take a look at the search on Ebay for CIS and you’ll see what I’m talking about.. for about $50 CAD, you can get a Continuous Ink System for most printers which will last you months. In fact, the only problem I have is that I don’t print enough, so I have to do a cleaning every so often (which also uses up your precious expensive ink).
