I get asked on occasion to manipulate images, or scan and fix, or just create some sort of odd project or image that I always end up using my favorite image manipulation program – Photoshop.
I won’t say I’m one of the most advanced Photoshop students out there in Internet world, but I will say that I’m certainly above average when using it. I wanted today to give a two very simple tweaks to increase the impact of an image.
- fix up blemishes really quickly
- brighten what should be your central focus point – the eyes.
To give step 1 a go, it’s actually very simple as there is a tool in Photoshop designed for this specific purpose, it’s called the spot healing tool. You can see what it looks like by the button circled on the left. When using this tool, it’s as simple as pointing and clicking.
For this example, let’s use a picture of myself.. I dare not use someone else and say they have ‘blemishes’.
Ok, now I want to get rid of my little beauty marks.. I mean freckles.. whichever sounds more manly here. I’d just click on the spot healing brush tool, and then simply click on the areas I want touched up, it really is as simple as that, talk about your easy acne treatment! Here’s the after picture.. I only clicked literally 4 times.
Anyhow as you can see, that’s a pretty darn easy way to clean up any unwanted spots or oddities in an image.
For the 2nd image, I’m going to steal the content where I found the technique.. watch the video and learn.
I promise you, by using the tools and applying a lot of different tutorials and trying them out, your creativity with images will really come out.
