As people close to me know (and a lot of people who aren’t close to me know
), I’ve been dabbling in the photography business for a few months. The link to the right takes you to my homepage in which I showcase some of the pictures I’ve taken for people over the last little while, but I have to admit that using tools like digital cameras and Photoshop is something that I’ve been doing for a very, very long time. In fact I think I still have a copy somewhere of Photoshop 3 which is oh.. about 6 versions ago.
Anyhow, one of those most common tools used to touch up and make minor adjustments is the Clone Stamp tool. This little button looks like the picture to the right here, and works by simply cloning an area around it. The following video does a great job of explaining what it does. (pardon the very gay sounding voice
)
Anyhow, this tool is and was great for things like age spot removal, and cloning unwanted artifacts out of backgrounds.. but what I find myself using more and more of is what is called the patch tool (as seen below).
Instead of re-inventing the wheel.. trusty ole Youtube will explain how this one works:
Some good tips in that video, and the voice is much better
So ya, this tool is one of my favorites.. great for you semi-advanced photo-shoppers out there.
