I’ve been thinking about doing a post like this every week or whenever for quite some time. I just want to document online for others to read – a good service story which I have encountered. Please note that they have NO idea I’m writing this and I get no compensation for it.. I just like good news stories.
It is far too easy to only remember the bad service that we receive on a daily basis, perhaps it was as certain food service or perhaps over the phone rudeness. Well, I’d like to do the opposite.. I’m going to write about a good service experience I’ve had.
The very first one I wanted to mention was Water & Wine.

Looks a lot nicer than when it was Dunkin Donuts.
Located were the old Dunkin Donuts used to sit (and for a very long time nothing at all) across from the Dairy Queen on University Ave., I have had nothing but good experiences in there every time I’ve gone in.
If you’ve been reading my blog, you’d know that I actually started making my own wine awhile back and I’m extremely excited as batch #2 is going to be ready in a few days – but I’ll post about that another time.
Great Gift Idea
My Mom is actually a regular at W&W and my first experience in there was when I was trying to buy her a wine kit for Christmas. This was years ago – however after the woman (co-owner I believe as it’s a husband/wife team running it) came over to help me, I simply told her who I was and who I was shopping for and she went back and looked at her records.. she knew who my Mom was, but also knew what wine she usually purchased! Great! Easy gift.
Troubles With My Own Wine
This went on for a few years as it really was a great gift for my Mother, but not that long ago I decided that I was going to make wine along with Liz. We started out and truth be told I thought it was going to be a lot more difficult than it was.. but even that being said we had to consult with the staff on a number of occasions and they were ALWAYS very helpful and knowledgeable. No truer was this as when we were having problem with what they call the specific gravity of the wine and I wasn’t sure if it was the correct reading or not. Liz walked into the store and explained the situation.. and they had told us that the yeast had stopped working.. “here.. take some more here and try it” along with some other instructions.. all free of charge.
Free of charge??
They could have easily charged us for the yeast or not have helped us or explained that there was nothing that they could do.. but nope.. they tried everything in their power to help us.. and it’s a good thing they did.. I haven’t had ONE person NOT like the wine that we made around Christmas time. *phew*
Obviously with this type of service.. it keeps me coming back.. and that’s exactly what I intend on doing and I highly suggest you do. You won’t regret it, these guys almost always remember who you are, are extremely knowledgeable in wine making, and are very friendly. I’ll be back as long as they’re in business and I’m making wine.
