Well, similar to the car lease “contracts” which people get into and quickly realize they’re over their heads, there is now a cell phone contract site in which people can get out of their cell contracts – or get into an older one – basically free of charge.
The site is called cellclients.com (Canadian.. yay!) and since I’m sort of in the market for a new phone it’s quite an interesting idea. I know that I can’t even afford the sale price of a brand new iPhone ($650+) or Blackberry. So, if you’re stuck in a contract you don’t want – you can post it on the site and perhaps someone like myself will browse along, think it’s a good contract or cell phone, and contact you to initiate the process.
I’ve not seen any reviews on the site yet – but if it’s anything like Leasebusters it’s a good option for sure. I know that Leasebusters worked for me as that’s how I got into my new Vibe (I got a lease when GM no longer offers them).
I guess I should mention that the reason that I’m trying to take over someone else’s contract – is that obviously the prices of new cell phones are outrageous. Why not help someone out that’s struggling to pay their bill or got into a contract they can’t afford? BTW: if you do have an iPhone – quite a deal at buy.com on iPhone 3G/3Gs Premium Screen Guard Protectors – $4.49 for 6 of them! I’ve seen a few iPhones’ (including my co-workers) whom could have benefited from these for sure!
My Blackberry Pearl just seems to be choking lately on pretty much everything I do with it, even though I love it.. it may be time for a change.

There is so much information on cell phones – I find it hard to choose – I would love to see a spread sheet showing all the differences along with prices – anyone else feel like me?
