Ok, this isn’t a post to tell you about some sort of credit card fraud, and it isn’t a post to tell you to stop shopping on the Internet – it’s a post to tell you to stop shopping online the way you’re doing it now, and help out the PEI Humane Society for free!
I’m sharing with you a free way you can help our PEI Humane Society while shopping on some of the most popular stores on the Internet. Stores such as Amazon.ca, Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Sears, Ticketmaster, Tire Rack.. truthfully there are hundreds of stores on there to choose from.
How does it work? It’s simple..
This information is taken right from the website:
Well, in a nutshell… A portion of the proceeds from each purchase you make through our website is donated to YOUR favorite charity or non-profit organization. And, it doesn’t cost you or our Charity Partners a penny more to shop or join!
Here’s a more detailed explanation…
- Each online shopping trip must start from www.shopandshare.ca. Log into your ‘Shop and Share.ca’ account and select your favorite charity from the list (if a charity has previously been selected then you don’t have to re-select one – the charity’s name will show up on the home page under the ‘Welcome’ message).
- As you do your shopping, your chosen charity’s name travels with you, even if you are redirected to one of our Retail Partner’s website to make your final purchases there.
- Each retailer sends us reports when purchases are made, along with a commission cheque which shared with the chosen Charities or Non-Profit organizations. The commission amounts are determined by each retailer. The reports display the purchase date, sub-total (before shipping), and the charity’s name associated with each sale (they do NOT generally provide customer names or details on what was purchased). The commission we receive is split with the charities. The actual donation amount/percentage is displayed on each product and/or retailer page on our site.
- Amazon is the only retailer that works a bit differently. They are the only ones that don’t report the chosen charities back to us, which is why we have the notice on our Amazon page.
If you still have questions about our Free Fundraising Program or how our website works, please feel free to contact us via phone or e-mail. We are here to help.
Did you read this part?? “..along with a commission cheque which shared with the chosen Charities or Non-Profit organizations”… that’s right. So if you’re going to buy a book, car part, special, anything.. you can help out the PEI Humane Society simply by doing what you were going to do anyhow, just starting at a different site.
Please send this post to anyone whom does shopping online (if you’re reading this I’m sure you do some anyhow!!)
I will note that the donated amount isn’t a huge amount, maybe even just a few cents which is given to the charity – but it doesn’t matter, as any non-profit charitable organization will tell you – EVERY LITTLE BIT HELPS.
I encourage you to check out the site, and if you have a question which can’t be answered from their site, leave a comment below and I’ll be sure to check it out.
