As most of you whom know me already know, I like to spend some time volunteering and helping out in various capacities with the PEI Humane Society.
A few weeks ago I found out that they were having this charity dinner to aid of desperately needed funds for new van(s). All I can say is that I’m definitely going – and I would love to see more people supporting this great cause – Yes, the tickets are $75 which are on the expensive – but you get a $40.00 tax receipt, plus $10.00 of wagering tickets for the evening as well. I just took a peek at some of the auction items .. man they have some wicked stuff there!
Today is the last day to purchase tickets.. so if you’re free on Friday night and want a really nice night out to support a great cause – this is your chance.

Details
PEI Humane Society will be holding its first Travelling Tails Dinner and Auction on Friday, May 14 at the Top Of The Park restaurant to help raise money to purchase a replacement Shelter vehicle for Animal Protection Officers.
The Society currently has two vans that our Animal Protection Officers use to patrol the entire Island and transport companion animals for a wide variety of reasons. Both vans are over six years old and have more than 200,000 kms each. The society would like to replace the vans to help lower the on-going maintenance costs, but more importantly, to enhance our officers safety while in the field and to improve the quality of our animal transportation.
The evening will start with a reception and the opportunity to meet PEI Humane Society adoptables and graduates. Guests will be able to bid on silent auction items and view the live auction travel and attraction themed packages, such as West Jet plane tickets and hotel accommodations. Guests will enjoy the Top Of The Park’s famous all-you-care-to-eat buffet.
Tickets are $75.00 each which includes a $40.00 tax receipt and $10.00 of wagering tickets for the evening. Tickets can be purchased on-line www.peihumanesociety.com, by phone 892-1190 or at the Society located at 309 Sherwood Road.
