So for the last few weeks or so, Liz has been great in that she’s been going to “Boot Camp” – I didn’t quite know what the hell it was to be honest, so I asked her the other day what it involved. Hmm.. torture or fitness.. you decide.
She told me that what they do is basically a circuit of different training exercises which are always changing and always different. I actually thought this was a great idea as it would keep you guessing and interested in the classes.. but then she told me that they held them OUTSIDE.. rain or shine… sheesh.. this is where the torture comes in.. ha.
Truth be told she’s really enjoying it, and she’s seen immediate results (and no, I’m not being paid to write this for them or anything, as with all things on this site, these are my OWN opinions.. uhh.. hence it being MY blog!). The results that she’s seen so far are obviously weight loss, but more importantly weight ‘inches’.. since she started boot camp (at 3rd Degree Fitness) she’s lost 13 inches off of her body.. this may not seem like a whole lot, or maybe it does.. but the fact remains she did that in her first 3 weeks! Pretty great if you ask me!
I do like the idea of having a personal trainer or someone else there pushing you to complete your exercises and watching you to make sure you do them correctly. I think that it’ would help myself personally to know that someone was expecting me to be there and when I did arrive they were there to help.
The price when she first started I found to be expensive, but it was simply due to the fact that she was paying for her own personal trainer basically for an hour at a time. Once she was a few weeks of that, they both (instructor and Liz) decided that she could join some other people and work out as a group. Obviously this was a lot less expensive, but she still enjoys the same workout.
While I haven’t gone myself to any boot camps or anything yet, I may be convinced to do something extra-curriculor in the next little while as my summer hockey is no longer going on and I want to make sure that I don’t put back on any weight that I’ve been trying to lose! I know that we weren’t able to find any diet pills that work for us, I guess it’s just one of those things that would be too good to be true if we did.
Anyhow, if you’re looking for an enjoyable experience and something different than “going to the gym”, give the boot camps a try – they are getting very popular and it may work for you!

Is that the UFIT boot camp?
No it is not ufit boot camp, this is much better. My wife did ufit for 4 years and never seen the results that she has in 5 weeks of 3rd degree training, she looks like a totally different person.
This is called 3rd degree Bootcamp (www.3rdegreetraining.com). I have three kids and just had my last 10 months ago and NO WORD OF LIE, in the first 6 weeks I am down to a size 5 from a size 9. I haven’t been a size 5 in 11 years. It has completely transformed my body and everyone else that is attending the camp. I am not in training to be an instructor for the July camps starting July 3,2010.
If you are interested you can email through the contact link on the website. Registration is on June 20/2010 from 9-1pm at 4d Walker Drive.
I promise you it will change your life. Just make sure to check the website at the end of June for all our before and after pictures!!!!

I am NOW in training to be an instructor that should have read, lol.
Yes, all these “boot camps” are great; for the 6-8 weeks you are doing them. Then you stop going. And 95% of everyone eventually gains the weight,or inches, back. Who can afford $150-$250 every other month?
Looks like you or someone you know have had a bad experience in the past with bootcamps Rebbecca…that is unfortunate.
3rd Degree is different than most. We have nutritional seminars at no charge from our licenced nutritionist, which really sets you in the right direction. You learn quick that the money that you save on the bad stuff easly pays for your membership….usually a couple of times over. It’s a shame if you’ve had little success in the past…maybe you should give 3rd Degree a shot….drop us a line!
Cheers,
Steve 3rd Degree
You mentioned the key thing to people gaining back what they lost, you stop going. All these exercises don’t require any special equipment, so you can do them at your own home. And 3rd Degree is doing something different that I’ve never seen or heard of any other boot camps doing, they are continuing into the fall. Plus we met with a nutritionist. I understand that the price might make some people think twice, but if you set yourself a budget, it is definitely achieveable.3rd Degree runs for 8 weeks and they offer 6 classes a week that you can attend. If you attend 4 classes a week, that’s a little over $7 a class. I’ve done everything from Herbal Magic, Weight Watchers to Hydroxicut. This is the only thing where I’ve seen results without being stuck to having to eat foods that I don’t even like. Plus how can you put a price on your health.
Nicely said Liz. I would also like to add to that. Nobody said you have to stop exercising when you are done of the 8 weeks. People that choose to stop exercising and choose poor eating habits, OF COURSE, are going to gain the weight back. It shouldn’t be an 8 week fix….it should be a lifestyle change!!!! Lets face it, there are only a handfull of people out that blessed with those crazy lean genes. Most of us have to work for it!!!
Hi Liz,
I would be interested in going sometime or knowing more about it…give me a call…send me a message for my phone number or talking to you in person about it. I have a few last pounds to shed and would like to get the last few off to get to where I was b4 I got married and had kids but having 2 sections also doesn’t help having muscles cut through. COngrats on your success…BTW how much is it to go to boot camp and where is it held?
