You know I stumble upon these recipe posts and I just have to share with you. These are the types of things that fascinate me and in the world we live in.. “The Information Age”, it’s impossible to keep a popular secret.. well, a secret! McDonalds fries is one of those secrets. I have to admit that I love their fries..generally speaking I eat almost all the fries before I even attempt at the burger or whatever else I bought with them.
I won’t go too into it, but here is the recipe for McDonalds fries… and I’m not talking similar results – this guy has gone through GREAT lengths to ensure these are perfect both in look, taste, and texture.
The recipe can be found here at seriouseats.com – and the ingredient list is as follows:
- 2 pounds russet potatoes (about 4 large), peeled and cut into 1/4-inch by 1/4-inch fries (keep potatoes stored in a bowl of water)
- 2 tablespoons distilled white vinegar
- Kosher salt
- 2 quarts peanut oil
Pretty simple eh? As far as cutting the potatoes goes, I know when (and there is certainly going to be a time that I try this) I try this technique, i’m going to use my mandolin in order to cut them perfect
As chopping can be a pain and inconsistent.
