I’m not one one to post negative type opinion topics, but since I thought about it.. I’m going to. I’m getting very tired of reading about the downtown (specifically Water St) residents complaining. First it was the Festival of Lights complaints, then it was WinterFest or whatever it was called, then the birds, concert sites, next up was Tim Banks and his Hotel develop plans, and now the gravel pits?
Man oh man, go buy a house in the country. Myself being a grateful resident of Stratford – if I didn’t like the idea of living close to Glen Stewart of the new Stratford Elementary.. I’d move. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about good debate and certainly safety issues should be addressed, but really? The gravel mounds are a safety issue? I’m trying to remember the last time someone was buried alive in a mound of gravel.. I really can’t, but on the other hand – I can remember quite fondly the many years of riding my bike through the huge development of Portland Estates in Dartmouth (Gah! without a helmet!!).. it was what I used to call.. fun. I swear it’s no wonder I don’t see kids playing much road hockey anymore, next thing you know it’ll be law to wear full face shields when playing a little street ball.
I realize their are certain events and happenings that go on downtown that may not be as appealing as you’d like – but look on the bright side.. you can walk anywhere and don’t need to drive a car to work!
