It’s true. I am now officially more of a morning person than I ever thought possible. I do have to throw out a disclaimer though – I know that 1/2 the people reading this are going to say .. “Oh god, that’s not early!! blah blah blah”. You have to understand, for me.. early was 10:30 AM on the weekends. That was seriously me getting up early.
Now it seems, after 8 years of getting up around 7AM every day, my body seems to think that it’s the normal routine and I have no problem getting up at that time.. *sigh* even on the weekends. This is horrible!! I am getting old!! Only old people get up earlier than noon on weekends right??
Ok maybe it’s not so bad, I did get a lot done today and relaxed quite a bit. Read part of a book (review coming later) and did ALL kinds of yard work including getting rid of the huge pile of gravel at the beginning of our driveway. Liz helped quite a bit after she got up and together we had a great day (not done yet though!).
I actually was backtracking through some Lifehacker.com articles and came across an interesting one for people struggling to get up and going in the morning. It’s located here but it points out 10 Ways to Upgrade Your Morning Routine:
10. Save the Morning for Thinking – as soon as you get out of your nice comfy massage table poly cotton sheets or whatever you have on your bed is the best time to do your best thinking. “”Think in the morning, act in the noon, read in the evening, and sleep at night.”
9. Track Your A.M. Habits
8. Put Your Kids on an Itinerary
7. Eat for Better Sleep
6. Choose Your Most Important Task Over Email
5. Trade Coffee Jolts for Smaller Perk-Ups
