One of the main reasons why I want an e-book reader or tablet computer so bad (hello iPad2), is to sit back in the evenings sometime and read. Not only do I enjoy reading hard cover books, but I also really enjoy reading blog articles and other interesting things from around the Internet.
So I’ve decided that starting today I’m going to try to post a weekly ‘round-up’ of articles that I’ve read or that I’ve found interesting over the past little while. Just a few as to not over-whelm.. and I’m starting today – the 6th week of the year (perhaps I’ll back post weeks 1-5 of this year, but let’s be honest… that’ll likely not happen).
Anyhow – enjoy the following articles.. I found them very interesting:
- Groupon Review – by MillionDollarJourney I’ve used Groupon quite a bit lately and post regular deals to my Facebook page if they’re good enough. Well worth a read to find out what the fuss is all about.
- Make your Own Breakfast Cereal Bars – by havecakewilltravel.com – Yumm.. that is all.
- 5 Tips to Organize your Dresser Drawers – by ApartmentTherapy – I now “file” my t-shirts instead of stacking them… sounds geeky, and it is.. but looks much better and my dresser stays nice and organized.

I pulled the trigger and bought a Kindle this week. Still want an iPad.
Oh yeah? I actually have a bunch saved up for the new iPad (holiday gift cards and putting away some here and there).. will likely be buying new as soon as they come out depending on feature set.. the Motorola Xoom is also looking quite nice.
I am trying to put a proposal together to get some iPads in my classroom. It is the way students learn best these days.

Hey Len
Like the idea of posting your recent reads.
I seem to have drifted away from checking the like of Digg, Delicious, Lifehacker etc. for my random daily reading. Instead im using my twitter feed much more the knock-on effect of this is that im reading a lot more sports articles from my sports-centric twitter feed but missing out on some of the gems that I would usually find at these other sites.
As for ebook reading im officially a convert.
I bought one of these far east ipad clones running Android 2.1 at the start of December and have been delighted with my purchase ever since. Loved the idea of a tablet device but didn't feel Ipad V.1 justified the price nor could I justify that I really needed one. I was also unsure if I wanted another Apple device
The ipad clone was a cheap compromise it came in at a third of the price of an ipad, checked all of the "must haves" and also meant I was not locked into Apple's evil ways
It was my 1st experience with both Android & tablet device and everything just worked
I was expecting some teething problems, some obstacles to overcome but straight out of the box it just worked
Accessed Marketplace, browsed online, played every multimedia file I could throw it (even streamed from PC), and displayed all manner of ebooks and documents.
I was also worried after initial novelty wore off that it would sit gathering dust but we found we're using it more.
My wife now keeps all her recipes on Dropbox and accesses them from the pad when she needs them.
We have around 50 ebooks on the device and I've certainly found myself reading more (Nothing too strenuous just some Dan Brown or James Patterson). One of favourite uses is during a big soccer game (or indeed the sB) being on Twitter or Skype during the action.
Dont get me wrong there are some drawbacks its not as polished it an Apple product and the marketplace has a long way to go before it gets anywhere near the number of apps thats available on the Apple store.
here's where I bought it from http://buyadroid.blogspot.com/2010/11/blog-post.h…
Dont be fooled by the poor website – The guys knows his stuff and was very helpful
thanks for the comment…
your experience with the clone is VERYYY interesting.. especially when I head to that site and it's got all the specs and everything.. at a fraction of the price..
I'd be really interested in hearing more about your experience with it.. especially since I have a substantial amount saved up now for an e-reader and could likely put that money to better use if this will do everything I want..
Hmmmm..
