Do You Subscribe To Many Magazines…. Quick Question.. Why?

Well ever since Maxim promised Canadians a years’s subscription and never ponied up.. I’ve been a bitter man. Everything looked legit when I signed up, and I got lots of other people signed up too, but here it is – months and months later.. and no Maxim. GRRR!!!
Personally I don’t have many subscriptions to magazines – I had a subscription to my favorite PC magazine called “Maximum PC” for a VERY long time but recently (as I think I posted) I didn’t renew as I wasn’t able to find one …

Tax Refund – What to do with it?

If you’re one of the lucky people whom end up getting a tax refund year after year, I’ve a question for you.. what do you do with it?
I filed my taxes last week via Netfile, and generally the turnaround for the cheque to come in the mail is around 2 weeks (if I remember well). Originally, and up until today.. I was thinking that the best way thing to do would be to put it on my line of credit, now.. I’m not so sure.
It’s a sizable amount which would …

If Anyone Ever Gives You Any Of That ‘USA is Better Than Canada’ BullSh$t..

Take a deep breath.. chill out.. and watch this video, it may be a good idea to have whomever you are arguing with, watch it as well.

In a time when flag waving and patriotism is at its peak with all the Olympic coverage going on.. remember that it’s all in fun, in sport, in game.. and when it comes down to push and shove – we’ve got each others back.

How To Adjust Your Mirrors to Avoid Blind Spots

This really is a helpful tip, and I would suggest that all Islanders take a look at this tip as it may help to avoid an accident or two which certainly could have been avoided.
I’ve written before about how bad Islanders are at driving.. and generally it’s when I’m on my way home for lunch every day. I’ve decided that once I get a little mini-HD camera, I’m going to mount it to my dash every day and just record my daily commute home. I swear to you there isn’t …

Guns N’ Roses Concert – Moncton, NB – My Review

I should start by saying that Guns N Roses.. the former, Guns N Roses.. was my favorite band of all time growing up. Personally I think the debacle between Slash and Axl has gone on far too long, and for the love of all things music – they should resolve their differences and go on tour sometime.
I realize this will never happen – a) they’re way too far apart and still hate each other and b) they’re getting too friggin old.
So, with that said, myself and Liz headed over last …

Do You Know When The Best Time To Buy Chocolate Is?…

I came across this article the other day and I wanted to go through it fully before I wrote about it. I love this list, and it’s one of the top articles from Lifehacker for January. Basically the article goes through the best times to purchase items at what time of the year:
You’re always hearing about off-season, post-peak times to save money on purchases and food, but it always arrives too late. We’ve compiled a timeline and lots of best-time-to-buy suggestions into one post to help you plan a …

Trying Out A Mac Again..

So here I am, typing away on my Mac, being stared at by two very cute beagles.. (I think it’s due to the fact that I’m eating popcorn currently..).
Anyhow, I must admit that things have changed quite a bit since the last time I used a Mac on any regular basis. I remember one of the biggest challenges was trying to get my bookmarks and passwords all ‘imported’ into whatever browser I was using, but now I find with ‘xmarks’ that this task is a breeze to resolve as it …

I Was JUST About Scammed From Kijiji…. WARNING TO OTHERS!!

So Liz and I are looking to go to the Guns N Roses concert on Feb 3rd but we had a tough time trying to figure out if we were going to be able to swing it or not. Ends up that we can likely make it, so in search of tickets we go!
I went online to kijiji and usedpei to see if there was anyone around here selling them, and sure enough there were some – but none with great seats which we’d want of course – so I …
