Well ever since Maxim promised Canadians a years’s subscription and never ponied up.. I’ve been a bitter man. Everything looked legit when I signed up, and I got lots of other people signed up too, but here it is – months and months later.. and no Maxim. GRRR!!!
Personally I don’t have many subscriptions to magazines – I had a subscription to my favorite PC magazine called “Maximum PC” for a VERY long time but recently (as I think I posted) I didn’t renew as I wasn’t able to find one …

It seems to me that I keep organizing, then re-organizing, then re-organizing.. and the list and list goes on. Be it music, pictures, movies, whatever.. If I’m putting it on a computer, I want to have it organized.
The problem is, most of the times the data is spread across so many drives, duplicates are going to happen, whether I like it or not, perhaps I clicked on ‘rename’ when I wanted to simply move files over to another directory.. who knows?
In any case, I’ve had a really tough time finding …

I’ve been consumed by Adobe’s Lightroom the past few days, and there’s good reason why.
You know how I posted awhile ago about the power of Picasa from Google? Well, this is similar to that.. except on steroids. It is by far the best, most comprehensive database driven photo manager I’ve ever used. I will warn anyone however, that it does have a bit of a learning curve.
If you are a photographer whom shoots in ‘RAW’ format, than Lightroom is a must.. the good news is, it’s also the only program …

I’ll admit it, one of my favorite tech tools of all time has to be my WD Passport External 500 gig hard drive. What’s not to like? It’s tiny (just a little bit bigger than an iPod) and can hold pretty much every photo I’ve ever shot! I remember at the time I bought it, I paid $129.99 for mine back in March of ‘09 – and that was one hell of a sale at the time.
What a lot of people don’t know however is that there’s a pretty significant …

Well, I think I may be one of the target ‘audiences’ when it comes to Apples’ new ‘iPad’. Few reasons I consider myself in this category:
I don’t own a Mac
I don’t own an iPod
I dont own a laptop
I love gadgets
I want an iPhone
I love the iPhone apps
I’m a geek
So yeah, that pretty much sums it up. Just finished watching the video at Apple.com and I guess what it comes down to for me is, do I think I can do the work I want to do on it… plus more.
I’m …

I love google street view..unfortunately I’m trying to figure out what time they drove by my house cuz I only see my roommates car in the driveway and not mine or Liz’s! Oh well, looks like it was REALLY nice out that day, so it’s good to see all the flowers and everything in full bloom Have I mentioned that I miss summer a lot??
I can’t wait to see what cool pictures people drum up as the street view car went through all the streets of PEI. My …

So here I am, typing away on my Mac, being stared at by two very cute beagles.. (I think it’s due to the fact that I’m eating popcorn currently..).
Anyhow, I must admit that things have changed quite a bit since the last time I used a Mac on any regular basis. I remember one of the biggest challenges was trying to get my bookmarks and passwords all ‘imported’ into whatever browser I was using, but now I find with ‘xmarks’ that this task is a breeze to resolve as it …

Has there ever been a console which hasn’t been ‘modded‘ to play downloaded (illegal) games? I’m trying to think, but I don’t think there has been until the ps3. That is, until now. Although it took over 3 years before it was done (that in itself is amazing) – a blogger called ‘GeoHot’ has reverse engineered the code – and has just released the code for others to tinker with. This GeoHot guy is unreal, as he’s the fella behind Apple’s iPhone unlocking as well.
Here is the latest blog post …
