Over two weeks ago, I posted that I was ‘broke’ for two weeks as my paycheck was already spent. Well, I’ve reached payday after those two weeks.. and well, I’m no further ahead. I was hoping that my laptops screen was lying to me, but alas.. it was not this morning when I checked it over my coffee.
Mind you, I’m not in the depressed state of mind I was that fateful Tuesday since I have a little bit more spending cash then I did during the last pay period – …

I’m becoming a library junkie, but I’m sort of proud of myself for doing so. Hell, up until a few years ago I barely read anything if it wasn’t on a glossy page with Maxim on the cover. Lately I’ve been picking up a TON of finance books and I have to be honest in saying the best one so far has still been “The Wealthy Barber” in terms of opening my eyes to how to save money and grow wealthy over time. What is interesting however, is how some …

HA! Really? You actually believed me?
Nope.. not even close actually.. HOWEVER, I am doing much more this year than I have in previous. And I mean much, much more, and much, much earlier. As I’ve stated in a previous post.. I am trying to take the approach that this year Christmas is on the 25th of NOVEMBER, instead of a month later. That way, for the first time.. ever, I will be able to enjoy the Holidays without the hustle, panic, and spending over the last month which I usually …

Well September is a tough month for saving, (seems like every month is eh?).. however with myself, I have Liz’s birthday as well as my brothers birthday. Add in the fact that it’s really the last month that anyone can do anything outside there are a lot of golf tournaments, social gatherings, etc. which make it tough to save any money.
That said, I’m still trying to stick to my budget as much as I can and get things paid off. I’m happy to report that I’ve paid off over $3700 …

Well here it is July 21st, and it’s about time I gave an update on how my budget is going.
As I posted back in June, I was 12.07 months from being out of debt at that time. I am extremely happy to say that I am now down to 9.85 months. What I’m even more happy about, is that a very expensive month is almost over with for me (lots of birthdays, anniversaries, etc).
The way I did it wasn’t any big secret actually, I simply cashed in some of my …

So last month I decided that I need to pay back some loans (credit card & line of credit).. so what did I do? Went out and got a new car…. well done Len, well done sir.
Ok, well yes.. I did.. however I’m really only spending around $25 more than I was before when I had the Cobalt.. actually likely less once I sell the winter car I drove during the winter. Without getting too far into it, I have leased a new 2009 Pontiac Vibe (absolutely love it) to …

Yeah, so I’m going to focus more on budgeting and making the most out of my money. I guess by doing, and posting.. people can learn how I plan on paying off debt (read “bad options buying”) and over-all sticking to a budget.
The first thing that I’m going to do is take out the money I plan on spending for the entire 2 week period after paycheck. I’m also going to take my debit card out of my wallet. I will leave my mastercard there since it’s used in emergencies …
