Regis & Kelly Visit PEI – I Was There

For those of you readers whom are regular Regis and Kelly watchers, I have to apologize. I don’t think that I have ever watched the entire show from start to finish. That’s not to say that I don’t think they’re entertaining, funny, and well worth a watch… it’s just that I don’t really watch all that much TV to begin with! So when it was decided that PEI was going to host them for a week way back when, I [...]

Why Do I Blog?

I’ve been asked this question a few times already and it seems to me that a lot of people don’t really know why I blog anything or write stuff down so I took a moment to think about this and then decided.. “Well, I’ll blog about why I blog!”.

1. The first and most important reason that I decided to blog is to help people around PEI. There are a number of great bloggers out there such as Peter Rukavina [...]

I Need A Doctor..

Yes, that’s right.. I am one of likely many, many Islanders without an ‘official’ family doctor. Why? Umm.. I think it’s due to the fact that I’m lazy and haven’t really had any ‘major’ problem so to speak of that would make myself feel like I needed one.

When we moved to the Island back in 1991, my Mom did get a family doctor in town (I’m not going to start naming names or anything) – and I’m sure there [...]

How To Adjust Your Mirrors to Avoid Blind Spots

This really is a helpful tip, and I would suggest that all Islanders take a look at this tip as it may help to avoid an accident or two which certainly could have been avoided.

I’ve written before about how bad Islanders are at driving.. and generally it’s when I’m on my way home for lunch every day. I’ve decided that once I get a little mini-HD camera, I’m going to mount it to my dash every day and just record [...]

Oh well,  looks like it was REALLY nice out that day, so it’s good to see all the flowers and everything in full bloom Have I mentioned that I miss summer a lot??

Wondering What To Do Now That Cell’s Are Banned While Driving??..

Is everyone in a big panic yet?? Especially all of you teenage girls who can’t go 4 feet without texting or checking your phone for some important message that you’ll forget about in 2 seconds? Ha.. ok.. a bit of a rant there.. I apologize to all you teenage girls who can’t go 4 feet without texting or checking your phone for some important message that you’ll forget about in 2 seconds.

Seriously though, this is a GREAT new law that [...]

Instead Of Spending Tourism On ‘The Friendly Island’ Ads – This Likely Put PEI’s Name Out There Better Than Anything TourismPEI has done..

I hate Internet Explorer.. unfortunately I realize that about 75% of the population use it.. including about 95% of corporations all over the globe (50% of stats are incorrect.. those could be some of them).

But yesterday my 2nd favorite browser (behind Google’s Chrome) released their latest update – Firefox 3.6 – which ads some new features and enhancements to an otherwise really awesome browser.

On their download page – seen by likely millions of people – is the wiki page for [...]

Need That Late Night Snack After A Few Cold Ones? Think Again…

Ok, so it’s NYE and you’ve just finishing up celebrating ringing in the New Year in your new tuxedo. You’re leaving the party at around 12:30 but feel a bit peckish. You decide to get some fast food as they’re the only ones open, and of course you’ve only had a ‘few’ beers so you should be good to go right?

Check out this story from CBC PEI:

How Many Times Would You Like To See Type Of Action For Bad Drivers In PEI?

I’ve written about the bad drivers in PEI before, and honestly it just keeps getting worse and worse I find here on the Island which is a shame. However, I’m pretty sure there would be a hell of a lot less illegal parking downtown if they did something like this once or twice.. HA!

I really don’t know what kind of old school alert system that they have in London for cases like this, and I don’t know how long buddy [...]

Oh My Good God We Have Bad Drivers In PEI..

One of the first sayings that I heard when I moved to PEI after I got my licence was that when people arrived off the ferry (no bridge at that time), there was a sign that said “Welcome To PEI, Blinkers Merely A Suggestion.”

For the many years that I’ve been driving around our beautiful Prince Edward Island, I can tell you that there is a lot of truth to that statement! Now, I’m not just going to rant [...]
